Mary Katherine Trangco
is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Music
with a Bachelor's Degree in Composition. She won 1st Prize in
the Togakushi Oragamu Composition Festival in Nagano, Japan. She was
commissioned by the National Music Competition for Young Artists
(NAMCYA) to write the Official Contest Piece for the Rondalla Category
in 2000. The same piece was recorded and performed as part the
culminating concert of the 1st International Rondalla
Festival. She is now pursuing her Master's Degree in
composition while she teaches Music Theory in the same university she
graduated from.
